This is the start of a new piece that I am working on. It is a close-up of two mermaids. Their arms and hair are surrounding them and there are sea creatures scattered throughout their hair and around the piece. It will basically be monochromatic... pale flesh tones, blond/white hair, and pale sea creatures. I am very excited about his piece. I think it has the potential to be a very delicate and beautiful painting.
Very first step... draw the on the canvas.
I brushed on a light blue acrylic coat in order to keep the flesh tones muted that will be painted on top of it.
And now it's time for the oil paint. The painting is flipped upside down from the previous two images but you can see how it is starting to take shape. I will post more next time...
