Some Finished Work

I wanted to post some finished work. These two pieces were in the Neiman Marcus show.... which was an amazing experience! I am not sure if I am completely finished with the piece of the mermaid coming out of the water. I feel like something is missing... I think the background needs more work. However, I am putting it aside for now and I am starting a new piece. Time will let me know if it actually needs work or if I have just spent too much time with it.

I am really happy with the piece below. I used gold leaf for the first time and I think I am IN LOVE. I added it to the crabs that are scattered in the hair... I had to stop myself from putting it everywhere!

(The picture at the very bottom is unfinished and the top picture is finished. I wanted to post both of them so you could get a better feel of my painting process and how the piece evolves.
